Thompson High School standout cornerback Micah Fleming took a major step forward in his recruiting journey after receiving a scholarship offer from the University of Southern California (USC), one of college football’s most storied programs.
The offer is a milestone moment for Fleming, who has long admired the Trojans from afar.
“Getting the offer from USC was amazing," Fleming said. "It’s a school I’ve watched for a long time and had already been in contact with them since 6th grade, and to think I could one day wear that jersey is a blessing. I’m truly honored and thankful for the opportunity, and I’m excited to keep building from here.”
The USC staff made a visit to Thompson, a gesture that didn’t go unnoticed by the rising defensive back. For Fleming, it was a humbling reminder of how far he’s come and the potential ahead.
“It was an incredible experience having USC make the trip out to Thompson," he said. "Just knowing a program with that kind of history and prestige sees something in me means a lot. It’s a big motivator for me, my family, and the people around me to keep working hard and pushing myself every day.”
Fleming, known for his instinctive play, athleticism, and lockdown coverage, has continued to draw attention from Power Five programs thanks to his performance on the field and his dedication off it. As he continues to rack up offers, the USC opportunity clearly stands out as one close to his heart.
With his junior year on the horizon, Fleming remains focused on development and team success—but moments like this serve as fuel for the grind.
